BUFF ORPINGTON Large Fowl.
Buff Orpingtons originated in Orpington, Kent, they were created by William Cook in 1894. Buff Orpingtons may be big birds, but they carry a lot of soft feathering which adds to their shape and size. They are big softies.
IXWORTH large fowl.
A rare breed of chicken, traditionally bred for meat whilst also being a good egg layer. They are a likeable, sociable and intelligent breed. A forgotten gem, these birds are an ideal breed for anyone interested in self sufficiency. Ixworths were created in the village of Ixworth in Suffolk by Reginald Appleyard in 1932.
LIGHT SUSSEX large fowl.
Well renowned for their excellent egg laying qualities. Light sussex were actually developed for their dual pupose qualities. They are lively bold characters.
Light sussex are also often crossed with other breeds for a variety of reasons eg sex linkage , broodiness, meat production. Please contact us for advice on crosses.
We have a lovely breeding stock of of good sized light sussex which have the potential to produce excellent offspring suitable for both egg laying and showing.
